Hi, I am Dawn Sanders. I am a writer, speaker, overachiever, overcomer, chocolate/sweets enthusiast, and Jesus follower. I started this blog to open a dialogue about how to navigate the challenges, struggles, and obstacles, we encounter in life, and ultimately, not allow these experiences to define us. Also, I hope to share tips, ideas, and resources on how, like my writer’s block, we can overcome, resolve, and/or just plain move past them—whatever works to free us to write a new ending to our story. My prayer is that you will join me.
In my life, I have braved quite a few of life’s challenges myself. Through faith, perseverance, and a supportive community, I am now free from a verbally abusive relationship, the guilt/shame of past mistakes like my divorce, debilitating fears, the shackles of perfectionism, the isolation of loneliness, and devastating grief to name a few.
Along the way, I graduated from seminary and became a minister at the First Baptist Church of Glenarden where I teach, disciple, and mentor women of all ages in navigating life’s challenges, struggles, and obstacles. Most recently, I taught a class on rebuilding your life after a catastrophic event changes your life forever. Currently, I am developing a class for widows and another on women of the Bible. And now, I am writing this blog.
